Who is Nicolle?
Nicolle Arthun, a Dine’ Nurse-Midwife from the Navajo Nation, is a trailblazer in Indigenous maternal health and policy advocacy. As the Founder and Health Policy Director of Changing Woman Initiative, her mission is deeply rooted in empowering diverse Indigenous communities, safeguarding cultural birth resiliency, and upholding the fundamental rights to reproductive health, dignity, and justice. With her extensive expertise, Nicolle spearheads innovative changes in maternal health, policy development, and community wellness, leveraging her wisdom and skills as a nurse-midwife.
Not only an internationally recognized authority in Native American maternal health, but she also dedicates her efforts to organizational development, fundraising, and leadership. As the Board Treasurer for the Groundswell Foundation, Nicolle channels her years of experience to support causes close to her heart.
Now, as the CEO of Transcending Strategies LLC, she's committed to catalyzing systemic changes in maternal and reproductive health, personal leadership development, and Indigenous health policy reform, contributing significantly to a more equitable and healthier future for Indigenous communities.
